Diversifying Your Revenue through Cannabis, Gambling, and Oil Wells

This program will detail the ways that tax revenues from recreational cannabis are currently structured in states with legal sales and provide pathways for library leaders to lobby for inclusion. The presenters will also share insights on how states use gaming revenue and fees on oil, gas, mineral, and timber in similar ways.

The EveryLibrary Institute is proud to present the findings of our Cannabis and Libraries report available for download here. Expanding on that report, author Megan Blair will discuss "Sin taxes" and revenue from natural resource extraction that are common sources of state aid and funding for education and how they may also be used to fund libraries.
